Course overview Our Bulldozer and grader operator safety training is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely operate bulldozers and graders while reducing the risk of injuries, equipment damage, and jobsite incidents. Through classroom instruction and practical discussions, participants will learn safe operating procedures, equipment inspections, hazard recognition, proper grading and earthmoving techniques, and best practices for working around other personnel and equipment. The course emphasizes OSHA requirements, manufacturer guidelines, industry best practices, and the operator’s responsibility in maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Who should attend? Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to: Understand the responsibilities of a safe bulldozer and grader operator. Identify basic equipment components and their functions. Perform pre-operational inspections and identify equipment deficiencies. Recognize common hazards associated with earthmoving and grading operations. Apply safe operating techniques for pushing, leveling, grading, and material movement activities. Understand proper equipment positioning and stability considerations. Recognize struck-by, caught-between, rollover, and blind spot hazards. Maintain safe distances from workers, structures, slopes, and other equipment. Apply proper communication practices with ground personnel and other operators. Understand safe procedures for traveling, parking, shutdown, and basic equipment maintenance. Follow OSHA requirements and industry best practices to improve workplace safety. Why this training matters? Bulldozer and grader operations involve heavy machinery, uneven terrain, changing jobsite conditions, and employees working near moving equipment. Proper operator training helps reduce workplace injuries, prevent equipment damage, improve productivity, and promote safer earthmoving and site preparation operations. Course details Course duration: Approximately 4 hours Schedule: Monday through Friday (subject to instructor availability) Language: English or Spanish Training format: Classroom instruction combined with practical discussions and real-world examples. Certificate: Certificate of Completion provided upon successful completion of the course. Certificate validity: Certificate does not expire. Refresher training is recommended periodically to reinforce knowledge, maintain best practices, and ensure continued workplace safety awareness. Attendance verification Participants are required to sign the attendance roster at the beginning of the training session. A signed attendance roster will be provided to the client as part of the training records. Training requirements A minimum of 6 participants is required to schedule a private training session. Class size is limited to a maximum of 40 participants per session to ensure an effective learning experience. Training location Training may be conducted at your facility or at our training location: IEC Independent Electrical Contractors 8868 Research Boulevard, Suite 500 Austin, TX Training conducted within the Austin area does not incur additional travel charges. For locations outside the Austin area, applicable mileage and, when required, hotel accommodations for the instructor will apply. A classroom rental fee of $200 per training day applies only when training is held at the IEC training facility.
