Service Description
Course overview Our OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry training is designed to provide workers with basic awareness of common safety and health hazards found on construction sites. The course focuses on hazard recognition, avoidance, prevention, and safe work practices while providing an overview of OSHA, workers’ rights, and employer responsibilities. Through classroom instruction and practical discussions, participants will learn how to recognize common construction hazards and take appropriate steps to help prevent workplace injuries and incidents. The training emphasizes OSHA Outreach requirements, hazard awareness, and safe work practices. Who should attend? Participants will learn about: OSHA and its role in workplace safety Workers’ rights and employer responsibilities Common construction site hazards OSHA Focus Four hazards: falls, electrocution, struck-by, and caught-in/between hazards Fall protection and safe work practices Electrical safety Safe practices around tools and equipment Material handling, storage, use, and disposal Personal protective equipment (PPE) Scaffolding safety Stairways and ladder safety Excavation and trenching hazards Hazard communication and health hazards Methods for recognizing, avoiding, and preventing workplace hazards Why this training matters? Construction workers are exposed to a wide range of hazards that can result in serious injuries or fatalities. OSHA 10-Hour training helps workers develop greater awareness of common jobsite hazards and understand how to recognize, avoid, and prevent unsafe conditions. The training also helps workers understand their rights and employer responsibilities related to workplace safety. Course details Duration: 10 hours Schedule: Monday–Friday, subject to instructor availability Language: English or Spanish Training format: Classroom instruction, discussions, examples, and interactive activities Course completion: OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach course completion card upon successful completion of the required training Card: The OSHA Outreach card is not considered a certification or license. Attendance verification Participants are required to sign an attendance roster at the beginning of the training. The completed and signed roster can be provided to the client as part of their training records. Training requirements Minimum of 6 participants for a private training session Maximum of 40 participants per session Participants must attend and successfully complete all required training hours and topics to receive the OSHA 10-Hour course completion card. Training location Training may be conducted at the client’s facility or at: IEC Independent Electrical Contractors 8868 Research Boulevard, Suite 500 Austin, TX For training in the Austin area, no travel charges apply. For locations outside the Austin area, mileage and hotel expenses may apply. A classroom rental fee applies when the training is conducted at the IEC facility. Customized training Training can be coordinated around the client’s project schedule and workforce needs. Additional emphasis can be placed on specific construction hazards or activities relevant to the work being performed.
